In the first quarter, the industrial value added of enterprises above designated size in Anhui hit 263.29 billion RMB, up 8.4 percent year on year and 1.6 percent higher than national average, ranking 9th nationwide, according to Anhui Provincial Bureau of Statistics.
Manufacturing sector contributed greatly. The industrial value added of manufacturing sector reached 231.78 billion RMB in Q1, an increase of 9.6 percent and 1.2 percent higher than provincial average.
In Q1, the sectors of auto, electronic information and chemistry grew significantly. In March, the industrial value added of Hefei and Wuhu skyrocketed.
The contribution of large enterprises increased greatly. In Q1, the value added of large enterprises hit 91.31 billion RMB, up 8.9 percent and 0.5 percent higher than national average, contributing 30.8 percent to the growth of enterprises in Anhui.
In Q1, hi-tech industry generated 103.83 billion RMB in value added, up 14.4 percent and 6 percent higher than provincial average; strategic emerging industry generated 272.36 billion RMB in value added, up 22.7 percent; six high energy-consuming industries generated 70.35 billion RMB in value added, up 7.8 percent, down 1.4 percent year on year.
